She Overcame and Made It Out

Jeani is a wonderful person - bright, friendly, fun. The darker moments of her past weren't something she would talk about. She'd talk about coming from a postage-stamp sized town out in the sticks and being in the Air Force, but she didn't talk about how bad it was, how her life was hellish, how she didn't just get out of town, she escaped. This very readable book puts her difficult, bullied life out there for all of us to read and learn from. I say readable because it is a book you can't wait to finish once you start - I read it in one session and couldn't wait to see how it all turned out.
What do you do when you are a shy person? What do you do when your parents aren't supportive, when your schoolmates make your life miserable, when you can't see a way out? How do you cope? How do you overcome? How do you succeed? How do you get out of your situation and make something of your life? Jeani did that. Her story is heart breaking at times and uplifting at times. She got out. She moved on. She succeeded.
I liked this book. The story is tough at times, very tough. It's worth reading. And seeing how one person coped and made it out. Read it! Then think about it and the person who wrote it. Think about Jeani and all the persons who were bullied like her. And then go out and do your best to be a better person. That's the lesson from this book.

Relavent and Revealing

Jeani bravely takes us with her through her long journey of a childhood filled with bullying, its lasting negative effects and how she found the inner strength to persevere.
This book clearly explains how difficult it is to overcome the humiliation associated with the unacceptable and cruel behavior of bullying.
"Confessions of a Bullied Girl" is an absolute required reading for anyone involved in the welfare of children.
